According to a court declaration dated May 1 and reviewed by TMZ and Complex, the 39-year-old singer wrote, “I reside outside of the United States” and added, “I do not intend to move back to the United States.”

The filing reportedly states that Cassie remains a U.S. citizen but is not a resident of California. She also said it would be easier to participate in legal proceedings in New York, where her legal team is based.

The declaration was submitted in connection with an ongoing lawsuit filed by Clayton Howard, a male escort who has made allegations against both Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Neither Cassie nor her representatives have publicly disclosed where she currently lives.

The news comes amid Cassie‘s ongoing legal matters involving Diddy. During testimony in his federal criminal case, Cassie revealed that she received a $20 million settlement from Diddy and his companies after filing a civil lawsuit against him.

TMZ also reported that Cassie later received a settlement from the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City hotel related to litigation stemming from surveillance footage that showed Diddy physically assaulting her in a hotel hallway. The outlet reported the combined settlements totaled approximately $30 million.

“The scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind,” he continued. “I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I’m sorry for that and always will be. My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry. The remorse, the sorrow, the regret, the disappointment, the shame. I honestly feel sorry for something that I couldn’t forgive someone else for: if they put their hands on one of my daughters. This is why it is so hard for me to forgive myself. It is like a deep wound that leaves an ugly scar.”

Also in the letter, Diddy apologized to a woman who testified in his case under the pseudonym “Jane.”

“Your honor, I thought I was providing for Jane concerning her and her child, but after hearing her testimony, I realized that I hurt her,” he wrote. “For this I am deeply sorry.”

Diddy continued, “I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core. Jail is designed to break you mentally, physically and spiritually. Over the past year there have been so many times that I wanted to give up. There have been some days I thought I would be better off dead. The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you—I choose to live.”

Following Diddy‘s trial, Cassie asked a judge not to release him, saying that her former boyfriend is “likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified” against him.

“Of course, we would have liked to have seen a conviction on the sex crimes and RICO, but we understand that ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ is a high standard,” he said. “We’re just pleased he still faces substantial jail time.”

Her team then released a full statement, via Us Weekly:

Jane says when she began to distance herself from Diddy via texts in October 2023, he started “love bombing” her.

She testified that Diddy would shower her with love and affection to an overwhelming point. It was a pattern whenever he wanted to have hotel nights, Jane told the court.

By October 2023, she testified that she told Diddy: “You treat me like an animal” and was tired of having “to do all the dirty s–t” for him.

Jane said Diddy once made her have sex with three men during an October 2023 rendezvous at the L’Ermitage Beverly Hills Hotel.

She didn’t recall the name of the first man, but the second man was named Paul and the third was named Sean. She said she had to leave to go throw up. She called the evening “absolutely terrible.”

She said because Diddy funded her rent, it was “like the home was being used as leverage.” In a text message to Diddy displayed in court, she accused him of “threatening the roof over my head.”

When asked in court if she in fact consented to the “hotel nights,” Jane said she was “still trying to figure that out.”

Jane said she fainted after Cassie filed a civil lawsuit against the music mogul in 2023.

“I almost fainted,” Jane said after learning about the lawsuit. “In fact I think I did.”

“There were three specific pages that was just a harrowing reference to what I was experiencing,” she said. “I was just bewildered, just in shock.”

She testified that Cassie‘s lawsuit read like a play-by-play of the “sexual trauma” that Diddy allegedly inflicted on her.

“I feel like I’m reading my own sexual trauma,” Jane wrote in a 2023 text message, confronting him. Cassie‘s civil complaint read “word-for-word” of the abuse she also endured, the witness said.

Prosecutors entered a recorded conversation between the witness and Diddy that was taken from the cell phone of his chief of staff, Kristina Khorram.

Jane told the court that she didn’t know she was being recorded during the phone call, which occurred days after Cassie‘s lawsuit was filed in November 2023.

In the recording, Diddy is asking Jane what he can do to make her feel better and telling her that his love is “true.”

But Jane was confused, telling him that she felt sick to her stomach after reading Cassie‘s suit. She said he made her feel so manipulated and that she didn’t know what to do with her feelings.

Diddy told her that everything they did, they did it “together.” Jane is heard in the recording telling him that the timing was crazy and felt chilling.

At one point, Diddy interrupts and says he cannot be on the phone.

“I just needed to tell you I need your friendship, you know you ain’t gotta worry about anything else, baby, please pray for me,” Diddy said in the recording.

“I will be praying for you, I need your friendship.”

Jane also told the court that she didn’t see Diddy after Cassie‘s suit was filed in November 2023 until February 2024, and said they were on a break.

Prosecutors showed a series of messages between Jane and Diddy in December 2023. In one message, Jane writes that she is crying and troubled, insisting that she no longer wants to do “those nights” with him. She urges him to hire prostitutes rather than emotionally hiring women who love him.

Later that month, Jane texted Diddy that he was never satisfied. He wrote back that he didn’t want to fight and asked her how to move forward.

She told Diddy in late 2023 that she needed to stay away from him.

In a series of text messages shown to the court room, Jane said it was best for her to stay clear of Diddy, who didn’t seem to understand her need for this distance.

“I wrote that because he was trying to work my reality again,” Jane said. “Every time I would speak the truth or tell him how I was feeling, he would move on from whatever I was talking about.”

He invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, and was offered an immunity deal to protect him from prosecution so long as he was honest.

During the testimony, he explained what happened with the video that eventually leaked online of Diddy beating then-girlfriend Cassie, for which the music mogul later issued a public apology.

During testimony, the said he didn’t initially recognize the two stars when watching the video of the March 2016 assault at the InterContinental hotel, per NBC News.

He told the court that he was later notified of their identities. He said law enforcement was not contacted and was told that Cassie did not request medical attention or police.

Diddy‘s former chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, then asked for the tape, per testimony.

When she asked for the tape, the witness told her he didn’t have the authority to produce the footage. He then told her to get a subpoena.

A call to his personal cellphone number had him nervous, he said, and Diddy repeatedly told him he could help regarding the footage of him assaulting Cassie.

Kristina Khorram first made the call, but Diddy eventually got on the phone himself and said the video would ruin his career.

The witness explained on the call that he did not have access to the server room where the original video was and could not help. Diddy offered to take care of him for the video, which the witness said he believed to mean financially. He testified that Diddy desperately wanted a copy of surveillance footage, and it had to be the “only copy,” because he didn’t want it getting out.

The witness said he talked to his boss, who was willing to do it for $50,000.

He testified that he expressed concerns about selling the only copy of the 2016 assault video, especially if Cassie had filed a police report.

He told the court that he ended up on a FaceTime call with the couple. Diddy told Cassie to tell the security staffer she also wanted the video to go away, he testified.

Cassie then said it wasn’t a good time for the video to come out and wanted it gone.

As part of the deal, he signed a non-disclosure agreement that called for the security officer’s silence and destruction of evidence. According to the NDA presented in court, there were to be no duplicates of footage or stored communications about the incident.

When asked if he read through everything before signing, he said, “No, I was nervous.”

After the hotel security signed NDAs, the security told the court that Diddy left and returned to the room with a brown paper bag and a money counter. He put stacks of money on the counter, $10,000 at a time, until it reached a total of $100,000.

According to Eddy, the original deal for the video with his boss was $50,000, but Diddy said the excess cash was for the other two security guards.

The witness was making $10.50 an hour as a security guard, and agreed to an NDA that included a $1 million penalty if he breached it. He received $100,000 for himself and two other employees for helping Diddy keep the video under wraps.

He also told the court that Diddy asked him if he wanted to count the money he was getting from the video sale and asked how he intended to spend it.

He explained that he didn’t know what he’d use the $30,000 he was getting from the deal. Diddy then warned him not to make any big purchases, he testified.

The hotel security guard said he assumed Diddy was advising against drawing attention to the money. He added that he didn’t deposit any of the cash into the bank and used the money to buy a used car.

Diddy had kind words for the security guard after the deal, Eddy testified.

“On Easter, he said, ‘Happy Easter my angel, God is good,’ and then proceeded to ask if anyone had asked about the incident or the video,” he testified. “I said I hadn’t heard anything and he said, ‘OK.'”

He said he later asked Diddy about employment possibilities with the defendant’s company.

When police began asking about the March 2016 assault at the InterContinental hotel, Eddy said he wasn’t initially honest with investigators.

He testified that he was contacted by law enforcement and wasn’t truthful about his involvement at first. He later got his own attorney and met with the government, where he said he was more honest.

Cassie was rushed to the hospital and admitted into the labor and delivery unit.

She first announced the news of her pregnancy back in February in a post featuring her two older kids, Frankie and Sunny, kissing her belly.

Cassie and Alex married back in 2019, about a year after she split from Diddy.

The judge in the federal case made a point of limiting her time testifying due to concerns she might go into labor.

During testimony, she explained that the burner phone that Cassie used to contact Kid Cudi was purchased because of Capricorn herself.

She said that she picked up Cassie one day and Cassie asked Kid Cudi to join them, which she thought was a bad idea. Capricorn testified that she was concerned that Cassie was texting her on a phone paid for by Diddy and that it wasn’t a good idea.

She took Cassie to Best Buy to buy a new phone because she feared that Cassie was “going to get us all killed.”

She then recalled the morning of December 22, 2011, when Diddy banged on her apartment door and said they were confronting Kid Cudi.

She said Diddy was visibly furious, and his pants split at the crotch. He was pacing with a firearm, she testified.

“He just said, ‘Get dressed, we’re going to go kill Mescudi,” she testified. “The gun was in his hand.” (Kid Cudi‘s real name is Scott Mescudi.)

Capricorn told the court that she was sitting in a car at Kid Cudi‘s home when Diddy accessed the main door of the property.

She called Cassie from the car and told her that Diddy came to Kid Cudi‘s home to kill the rapper, she testified.

She said that Diddy came back to the car and asked to see her phone, calling the last number on the call history.

She said Diddy ordered her to call Cassie to let her know Diddy had her and that he wasn’t going to let her go until Cassie came. Cassie agreed, and Capricorn went to pick her up.

They returned to Diddy‘s home where he allegedly told them not to speak to the police and urged them to convince Kid Cudi to not tell the police he was involved.

Diddy repeatedly kicked and beat Cassie, wearing only a robe and underwear, after she arrived at his home following the Kid Cudi break-in, Capricorn tearfully testified.

She said Diddy came at her “100% full force,” repeatedly kicking his former girlfriend while she crouched more and more into a fetal position. Cassie was crying quietly as Diddy kicked her in the back over and over again.

Capricorn said Diddy told if she intervened, he would attack her next. She added that no one on Diddy‘s security team intervened to stop the attack.

When no one stepped in, Capricorn said she had no other option but to call Cassie‘s mom, Regina Ventura.

“He’s beating the s— out of your daughter. I’m in over my head. Please help her. I can’t call the police, but you can,” she testified saying to Cassie‘s mom.

Diddy questioned Capricorn about how much she knew regarding Cassie‘s relationship with Kid Cudi.

He was angry and upset, wanting to know when Capricorn knew about the pair and why she didn’t tell him about it.

“I should kill you b—-es,” she said he told her.

Diddy fired Capricorn for her allegedly failing to inform him about Cassie dating Kid Cudi.

“I lost everything,” she said, citing employment benefits such as health insurance and a 401K.

He reportedly gave her a 30-day notice in 2012: “He said I would never work again and all these people weren’t my friends and he would make me kill myself.”
