The election day took place on Tuesday (June 2), and the early results are in, revealing where Spencer, Karen and councilwoman Nithya Raman all stand in the mayoral race.

At the time of this post, only nearly 50% of votes have been counted, with Karen in the lead and Spencer trailing close behind.

Deadline reports that Karen is at 37% of the votes, while Spencer has 30%. Nithya trails in third with 20.5% of votes.

Top 2 Candidates Will Face Off in November Election

A candidate will need at least 50% of the vote from Tuesday’s election to win the mayoral seat, and if they don’t reach that threshold, the top two will go up against each other in November’s general election.

So, did Spencer win or lose? If these current results hold up, he got what he wanted as he’s still in the running. It was very unlikely that any candidate would win in this primary.

Back in 2022, Rick Caruso led Karen Bass on election night, but after a week of counting votes, Bass came out on top.

During an election night event in Koreatown, Karen addressed supporters, touting her outcome is “looking good so far.”

“Tomorrow begins the second half of this journey,” she said. “We can have the city we know we all deserves.”

Spencer has not yet spoken out publicly about the election.

He first told CNN that he did not think there was any political alignment to the event. Then, he explained the decision to drop out.

“This is not what I signed up for. When I saw Young MC pulled out, I was like, ‘Well, that’s weird… What does he know that I don’t know?’ So I was a little worried there, and then one after the next, people started to leave. But I was told by my team, who was told by another team, ‘There’s nothing, there’s no political alignment.’ … I was there to unite the people, to have them walk down memory lane, celebrate life. It was a way to say, ‘Hey, I’m still here, you’re still here. Let’s have a good time together.’ But throughout the week it turned into a circus. I’m not into politics, so you hear it first here: I’m not attending the June 26th celebration.”

Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Morris Day, Young MC, and The Commodores have all pulled out of the show, with some saying they were misled about the purpose of the event.

In court documents filed last month, it was revealed that Hunter moved out of the country shortly after his father Joe Biden‘s presidential term ended in January last year.

His attorney, Barry Coburn, filed a 14-page document in a civil lawsuit over unpaid legal fees on April 6, according to People. In the filing, it mentions, “Mr. Biden lives abroad.” The attorney declined to offer more details. Find out more.

The WHCA dinner will now take place on July 24 at a still-to-be-determined location, and will include “enhanced safety measures” after there was an effort to assassinate President Donald Trump at this year’s dinner back in April.

WHCA President Weijia Jiang confirmed the news in an email obtained by Deadline.

“Rescheduling was not automatic. It was a choice that the WHCA board made after thoughtful consideration and input from our members. I want to thank board members for the time and care they brought to this decision, particularly on the security front. The event will feature significantly enhanced safety measures and new access procedures. We will share additional details directly with attendees,” the email reads.

“This dinner will not only be an opportunity to carry out our program. It will be a statement that violence has no place in American life and a free press will not be intimidated into silence. As you have all demonstrated, courage and community can and should rise above.”

Cole Allen, the suspect in the shooting at the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, has officially been charged.

He pleaded not guilty while being charged with the alleged attempted assassination of the President, plus two federal gun charges.

According to audio recordings obtained by The New York Times and Status, Pelley sharply questioned the qualifications of newly appointed 60 Minutes executive producer Nick Bilton during a staff meeting.

Bilton was named executive producer last week and joined a growing leadership team assembled under Weiss that also includes CBS News managing editor Charles Forelle.

Per Deadline, Weiss was not present during the meeting.

Addressing concerns about the future of the program, Bilton pushed back on the rumors that major changes were coming to the long-running broadcast.

“The rumors people are spreading, that I’m going to turn the show into 60 one-minute episodes, that it’s going to be like TikTok, that is not changing. The show is going to stay exactly like it is for now,” Bilton said, according to The Times. He also defended Weiss, telling staff that she “loves 60 Minutes.”

Pelley strongly disagreed.

“She is murdering 60 Minutes. She does not love this place. She was brought in to kill it, and she’s been doing exactly that.”

The veteran correspondent continued by questioning both Weiss‘ leadership and Bilton‘s appointment.

“She has no qualifications for her job; you have slender qualifications for this job. The changes that she’s made at the Evening News have been catastrophic, so why should we expect that any of this is going to be any better?”

According to The Times, Pelley also confronted Bilton about the departures of correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega, at one point asking why Bilton accepted the job “knowing that you will never be welcome here.”

“I have no problem taking a job in a place that I am not welcome in. I don’t think that will be the case,” Bilton responded, according to the audio.

Vega previously spoke out following her exit from 60 Minutes, alleging “censorship” amid the ongoing shakeup at the news program.

The 79-year-old President of the United States detailed a proposed drone facility along with what appears to be AI-generated renderings of the project on Sunday (May 31).

In addition, he accused a federal judge Richard Leon of threatening U.S. security by pausing the project.

Leon ruled back in April that the administration lacked legal authority to build the new White House ballroom without congressional approval, issuing an injunction to prevent “above-ground construction of the planned ballroom.”

The order was itself put on hold by an appeals court, and construction continues.

The 79-year-old President of the United States went to Walter Reed Military Medical Center earlier in the week, where he underwent what the White House described as a “routine annual dental and medical assessment.”

His physician, Capt. Sean Barbabella, DO, deduced that Trump‘s hand bruising seen over the past months is “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.,” per People.

He is listed as 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 238 pounds, and his body mass index is close to the threshold for clinical obesity, per USA Today.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function. His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” the physician said in his report.

“The results of my Physical Examination, taken at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, and just released, were extremely good,” the President boasted on Truth Social.

Trump highlighted his cognitive test results

“Unlike other U.S. Presidents, none of whom have ever taken an approved, high difficulty, Cognitive Test, I scored a perfect 30 out of 30, considered ‘extreme intelligence.’ Are the Dumocrats really surprised? In fact, this is my fourth such test, all PERFECT or, 120 correct answers out of 120 questions asked! It is very rare that anyone gets a Perfect Score, especially when achieved four times in a row. All people running for President and Vice President should be forced to take high difficulty Cognitive Tests. Congress, and the Dumocrats, should demand it! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote.

A CNN medical analyst weighed in

CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner reviewed the results of the physical, including the cognitive test, and weighed in about those results.

“I’ll note again that it looks like they once again tested the president with the MOCA test,” he said, referring to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a test used to detect signs of cognitive decline and dementia.

“That’s not really that useful when you take it over and over and over again, because the questions don’t change that much,” he went on to say.

The report also stated, via ABC, that “preventive counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.” 

Trump is taking aspirin for cardiac prevention, and Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe for cholesterol control.

The president took to Truth Social on Saturday afternoon (May 30) to share his thoughts on the Great American State Fair, which is scheduled to take place later this summer on Washington’s National Mall.

In his post, Trump argued that the planned concert should be replaced with a large political gathering.

“We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain,” he wrote.

Trump‘s comments came after several artists announced they would no longer perform at the Freedom 250 event, including, Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Morris Day, The Commodores, and Young MC.

“Cancel it,” Trump added before turning his attention to a federal judge who recently blocked his proposed closure and renovation plans for the Kennedy Center.

Earlier on Saturday, the president shared a post on Truth Social saying he would deliver a speech and host an “America is Back” rally at the “same time, same location.”

According to NBC News, a person familiar with planning for the event said Trump was always expected to headline a July Fourth celebration connected to the fair. The president is now also expected to participate in the opening ceremony.

The Great American State Fair is scheduled to run from June 24 to July 10 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

On Friday (May 29), which would have marked JFK‘s 109th birthday, Maria reacted to a federal court ruling involving the Kennedy Center and President Donald Trump.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled that Trump‘s name has to be removed from the Kennedy Center and halted the planned renovation plans that would have closed it down for two years.

Maria, who is the daughter of JFK‘s younger sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, shared her thoughts in a post on X following the decision.

“An appropriate birthday present on my uncle’s birthday today,” she wrote.

“A federal judge ruled that President Trump and the Kennedy Center Board acted unlawfully in renaming the Kennedy Center. The judge held that only Congress can change the Center’s name and blocked the planned two-year closure. I know they’ll probably appeal and the story isn’t over, but for today let’s celebrate a great birthday gift.”

Cooper, a judge who was appointed by former President Barack Obama, issued a 94-page ruling finding actions taken by the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees violated the law governing the institution. The ruling reportedly ordered Trump‘s name to be removed within 14 days and blocked renovation plans that would have resulted in a two-year closure.

The Trump administration-backed event to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, aka the country’s independence from Britain, announced the lineup on Wednesday (May 27), featuring several acts for the 16-day celebrations.

Many of the acts have since dropped out of the June 25 concert, saying they are now learning it’s not exactly what the event was billed to be.

Vanilla Ice, who says he never votes, is committing to be there still and says he would’ve performed if Biden asked too.

“Happy birthday America 250 years. It’s gonna be an epic party. This is to bring us all together. I’m tired of all the news channels dividing this country. We are all one. This is not a political platform. This is celebrating America’s birthday. Nothing too serious just enjoying some fun, dancing and great memories. Hope you guys can join us,” he captioned the above video.

In a comment, he added, “Yeah, if Joe Biden calls and says hey, I want you to play for my daughter‘s wedding. I’m going to play. There are fans everywhere. Music has no political rules. We are just entertainers. I don’t vote and I never have and I always try to bring people together. We are all one. Positivity is the best hope for everything. Love is the answer.”

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper blocked the administration from closing the building for repairs for two years and also from adding adding Trump‘s name to the building, declaring it unlawful and ordering its removal.

The administration has 14 days to remove Trump’s name from both the building and website.

The judge found the board’s decision to close the center for two years for repairs “ill-informed and seemingly preordained decision.”

“The trustees might have assessed the propriety of closure in a number of prudent ways. This was not one,” he wrote, via NBC News.

“However, the preliminary injunction will not prevent the Center from moving forward with the capital repair work it has planned, which the record demonstrates is sorely needed. Nor will it categorically prohibit the Board from closing the Center should it come to this decision anew after independently balancing its multiple obligations to the Center in a prudent fashion,” the judge also determined.

“The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so. Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” the judge added.

The Republican U.S. representative, representing New Jersey’s 7th congressional district since 2023, has not been seen since March 5, nor attended any public events.

His party is concerned both for his wellbeing, and that his absence could possibly cost them the majority in the House.

“No one knows where he is and, from my understanding, the speaker doesn’t know what the exact situation is. Just as there’s no room for error in the congressional majority, there’s no room for error in this congressional race,” Doug Heye, former aide to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, told the Washington Post.

He vaguely issued a statement last month, citing “a personal medical issue” at the end of April.

“My doctors are confident that I’m on the road to a full recovery,” he later told the New Jersey Globe in May without providing more details about the medical issue.

Kean is currently running unopposed in the New Jersey Republican primary on June 2.

Rebecca Bennett, a leading Democrat who may be challenging the politician for the seat in November, also spoke out about his absence to the Washington Post.

“I sincerely wish him well. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I certainly would have been more transparent about this if I was our member of Congress. And I think we do need to have rules about disclosure, both from a financial perspective as well as if you’re going to have some sort of extended absence. He is never around, he’s not on the ground, he doesn’t meet with voters, and he doesn’t meet with constituents. And so, to me, this is just an extension of how he’s been in office from the beginning.”

The 63-year-old Poison rocker confirmed on Friday (May 29) that he is no longer going to perform at the gig, set to take place on the National Lawn in Washington, D.C.

He is now the fifth artist out of the nine originally announced acts to pull out, and he issued a statement about the decision to social media.

“Unfortunately, what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of. Concerns have also been raised regarding the safety of my fans, band, crew, family and myself, including threats that are completely unfounded and unforgivable. Because of that, I have made the difficult decision to step away from this performance,” he wrote.

“This isn’t about politics. It’s about staying true to what I’ve always believed in. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. That’s one of the freedoms our veterans fought for and something I’ve always respected. But as a father, friend and bandmate, I have to take threats and safety concerns seriously.”

Freedom 250, which Donald Trump announced last year, is described as a “national, non-partisan organization leading the celebration of our Nation’s 250th birthday.”

I wanted to jump on here real quick and talk about the upcoming Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C.
When this opportunity was originally presented to my team, it was described as a celebration of our country through music and a chance to honor our veterans, active military, first responders, teachers and hardworking Americans from all walks of life. As the son of a veteran, and coming from a family that has proudly served, that is something I have always been honored to support.

As many of you know, I’ve spent my entire career bringing people together through music, positivity and good vibes. My shows have never been about politics. They’re about giving people a place to come together, have a great time and forget about life’s stresses for a few hours.

Interview, a magazine currently run by Rihanna‘s former stylist Mel Ottenberg, has profiled some of the biggest celebs in the world over the years, often having celebs interview each other. The mag was co-founded by Andy Warhol back in 1969.

Spencer‘s profile, titled “Spencer Pratt Takes Us Around the City He Thinks He Can Save,” features photos of him in Los Angeles locations that mean a lot to him, including his alma mater USC, his favorite restaurant Don Antonio’s and Dodger’s Stadium.

“Love him or hate him, Spencer Pratt is having a moment. We asked him to take us around the city he wants to run and share the places that made him fall in love with it,” the mag wrote.

Andy Maher, a producer on the CBS shows All Rise and East New York, wrote in a post on his Instagram account that for Interview Magazine to platform someone like Pratt “in a lighthearted feature designed to humanize him and make this campaign feel amusing or unserious seems like a reckless lapse in judgement. There are real world consequences to treating a dangerous political opportunist as content. But Angelenos are the ones who will live with the consequences of normalizing this nonsense.”

Buzzfeed’s senior editor Brian Galindo wrote, “As an Angeleno, I second a lot of these feelings. While the city has many serious problems to resolve, having someone with no experience and a possible ulterior motive is only going to make things worse.”

The Trump administration-backed event to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, aka the country’s independence from Britain, announced the lineup on Wednesday (May 27), featuring several acts for the 16-day celebrations.

However, since the announcement, Morris Day first said he and The Time would not be performing, and now, most of the other performers have also dropped out of the event, held on the National Mall in Washington, MC.

Country music star Martina McBride is the latest to back out, sharing a statement on Instagram.

“I would like to talk to you and clear the air. I will not be performing at the Great American State Fair on June 25th. I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event but that turned out to be misleading. I asked lots of questions and was assured this was a nonpartisan event that was meant to celebrate ALL 50 states,” Martina wrote. “In my mind I thought this was a great way to celebrate the states and also bring people together in the way that only music can. I saw it as just a bigger version of so many state fairs I have performed at over the years, celebrating community and what makes each state special. Sounds fun, right? Wholesome even. Yesterday things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening.”

“I’ve spent my entire career singing songs about real people with real issues. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be a voice for those who have felt like they didn’t have one,” she continued. “It greatly upsets me that any fan who has been moved by my music may now feel like I’m abandoning the meaning behind those songs. I assure you, that is not the case. I appreciate every single fan who has reached out. I hope to get back to the DC area very soon.”

Young MC has also dropped out, writing, “I HAVE INFORMED MY AGENTS THAT I WILL NOT BE PERFORMING AT THE FREEDOM 250 EVENT. The artists were never told about any political involvement with the event. And despite the claims by the organizers that the event is non-partisan, Spin magazine describes it as ‘Trump-backed.’ I hope to perform in D.C. in the near future at an event that is not so politically charged.”

Also dropping out is The Commodores.

The group shared on Instagram, “The Commodores will not be performing at the Great American State Fair. Our music has always been our voice and we choose not to publicly affiliate with any single political party. We support the betterment of all Americans.”

Milli Vanilli has also seemingly dropped out, tho main performer Fab Morvan has not spoken out publicly yet.

One of the original studio vocalists of the group, Jodie Rocco, shared with The Associated Press that she and her sister Linda Rocco, who also provided vocals, were surprised by the announcement of Milli Vanilli being on the lineup.

“My sister and I were shocked to see our name, ‘Milli Vanilli’, as one of the performers,” she wrote to the publication in an email.

It’s currently unclear if Fab will still be performing or not.

C + C Music Factory‘s Freedom Williams shared his own reaction to being on the lineup and the backlash.

In a video on Instagram, Freedom said he initially was inclined to back out of the event due to the backlash, but then seemed to say he would still perform as no one can tell him what he can or can not do. His confirmed performance is currently up in the air.

C + C Music Factory founding member Robert Clivilles, shared his own statement.

“Please be aware that Freedom Williams has done his best to misuse our name, C&C Music Factory, which means Civilles & Cole Music Factory,” he wrote on Instagram. “Freedom Williams should not be using this name to tour or represent what this group stands for. Any political or religious show or comment Freedom Williams makes regarding any shows, views or opinions… (have) absolutely nothing to do with C&C Music Factories (sic) viewpoint at all. The group stands for love and peace of all people globally and neutrality. We take the side of love and peace always. Please go to his page and vent.”

There are now currently only three remaining acts out of the nine announced.

Bret Michaels, an avid Trump supporter, has not spoke out publicly about performing. Though, given his support of Donald Trump, it’s unlikely he’ll drop out. He’s currently touring the US on his Live & Amplified Tour.

Flo Rida is also still on the lineup and has yet to publicly condemn performing at the event.

According to a Reddit post, after one person on Instagram commented, “Performing for Trump? Why??” The rapper simply responded with three laughing emojis.

Vanilla Ice is the third artist who still remains on the lineup. While previously saying he’s “apolitical,” he did perform at Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve Party earlier this year.

On Thursday (May 28), NFL insider Mike Garafolo posted, “Giants QB Jaxson Dart addressed teammates in a meeting yesterday to discuss his introduction of President Trump last week.” He added, “Other team leaders spoke up as well, and Dart and the players worked through it. They are moving forward.”

Another NFL insider Ian Rapoport then responded, “Giants leaders such as Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jameis Winston all spoke and worked to put it behind them.”

Jaxson Dart’s social media activity exposed

This week, Jaxson Dart‘s social media “likes” were tracked.

As of the time of this posting, he follows Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Kai Trump.

He also allegedly “liked” a Trump Instagram post from November 1, 2023, where he endorsed Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves. That post saw Trump describing opponents as “radical left maniacs.”

He then allegedly liked a July 2024 post from Trump which said, “STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION,” “CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY,” and “STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC.” That same video also made claims about cutting funding for schools teaching “critical race theory,” “radical gender ideology,” and “inappropriate racial” views.

He also apparently “liked” a video about Charlie Kirk‘s death and blaming “the radical left.”

Pratt shared the claim in a new interview with Us Weekly.

“Usually I don’t name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, ‘Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.’ If their reps try to deny this happened, I have multiple witnesses. It was an out-of-body experience.”

Sources told EW that DiCaprio has “not publicly or privately endorsed any candidate.”

Still, Pratt says he’s not seeking any endorsements from major names. He said, “The only endorsements I seek, which I have, are moms in Los Angeles, animal lovers and one that I just got, the Latino Business Association, which are 800,000 Latino businesses that Mayor Bass has failed.”

Spencer has received support from many celebs in Hollywood and even Trump has voiced support him, adding that he believes the reality star is a “big MAGA person.”

I draw strength, and I find joy in working for the American people, but this sacred task of perfecting our Union is not about me. It’s about you,” he said in his speech.

Joe continued, saying, “In recent weeks, it’s become clear to me I need to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believe my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America’s future all merited a second term. But nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy. That includes personal ambition.”

“So I’ve decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. That’s the best way to unite our nation,” President Biden explained. “You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There’s also a time and a place for new voices, fresh voices. Yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now.”

In addition, Axios reports that Trump has appointed her to an advisory committee focused on AI policy.

“Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces,” JD Vance said to CNN in a statement.

According to sources close to the Attorney General, the President broke the news to her of her firing in four words as they were headed to the Supreme Court.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump signaled to Bondi she was fired by telling her, “I think it’s time.”

Earlier in 2026, Pam Bondi was subpoenaed to answer questions regarding the Department of Justice’s investigation into Epstein.

She sent a letter claiming all of the Epstein Files were released in February.
