Steven Spielberg calls the movie “closer to fact than fiction”

In an interview with Extra, Steven talked about making another alien movie after big hits with E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

“Well, I think it’s a departure from both E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which could both fall into the fantasy category, or into what I call science speculation with Close Encounters as opposed to just pure sci-fi,” Steven said. “But I got very, very interested in this subject when people who were in the know – people in the Air Force, Navy pilots, people in Congress – when they all started talking about this after the New York Times in 2017 leaked the Tic Tac footage that we’ve all heard about and seen.”

Steven added, “I got really interested in this not as a science fiction film, but as a kind of summation for me as a filmmaker in this genre that includes both of the aforementioned films. And so I took this subject very seriously because it’s something that I think is closer to fact than fiction.”

Disclosure Day hits theaters on June 12.

The hit drama series, starring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Colman Domingo and more, just aired it’s season three finale, which has now been confirmed to be the series finale, via Variety.

This news doesn’t come as much as a surprise as it has long been rumored that this would be the end.

Sam Levinson shared the news on the New York Times‘ Popcast podcast, while speaking with hosts Joe Coscarelli and Jon Caramanica.

HBO then confirmed the show is ending with Variety.

Previously, Sam has said that he writes every season as if it is the last, but wouldn’t confirm if this season would be the end.

“I’ve written every season like it’s the last season, because I was never sure if they were going to pick it up again,” he told The New York Times ahead of the season.

“If inspiration strikes and I have an idea, then I’ll talk to HBO,” he added when pressed about a fourth season. “If it makes sense, it makes sense. But it’s such a long shoot and we put so much into it, from every department — costumes, production design, editorial, cinematography. We just want to get this season right. So if this is it, great. If there’s more …

“I don’t know. I mean, I’m not…” Sam continued. “As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch Mrs. Miniver again.”

While details on the upcoming season finale are scarce, it is, of course, set to wrap up the storylines of the season, with the teaser showing quite the dramatic end to the season.

If you missed it, it was previously revealed that the eighth episode of the season is slated to not only be the longest episode in the show’s history, but also in HBO history, clocking in with a runtime of 93 minutes!

As it stands, it’s currently unclear if this will be the last episode of the show, but it is highly rumored that it will be the series finale, with star Zendaya even weighing in, telling Drew Barrymore that she thinks this is the end, and that “closure is coming.”

There are also currently betting odds that another character could likely be killed off in the finale, marking the second death of a major character towards the end of the season, following Jacob Elordi‘s Nate Jacobs in the seventh episode last week.

This year’s award recognizes Margherita for her movie Gioia Mia (Sweetheart), which “reflects the vitality and originality of a new generation of filmmakers shaping the future of cinema.”

The Emmy-nominated HBO drama series from Sam Levinson is over halfway through it’s latest season, and the finale is just a few weeks away.

There are currently only three episodes left and the eighth and final ep of the season is set to be not only the series’ longest, but also the longest in HBO history!

According to ScreenRant, the upcoming Euphoria season three has a runtime of 93 minutes!

This makes the episode the longest one in HBO history, surpassing Game of Thrones, who currently holds that title. GoT‘s season eight, episode three (“The Long Night”) clocks in at 82 minutes.

Prior to that, Game of Thrones has held other longest episode runtime titles, while it’s spinoff House of the Dragon also has multiple episodes over an hour long, with many clocking at 70 minutes.

For Euphoria, the series’ has rarely had an episode longer than 60 minutes, with it’s longest episode being at 65 minutes.

The season finale episode being an hour and a half long continues to fuel rumors that this season will be it’s last. Zendaya has even teased that the show will be ending.

Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Nick’s (Steve Carrell) death, leading to the friend group to find their vacationing at a strange crossroads as their lives change.
