Titled Growing Up Dion for now, the series is being developed with the support of Celine‘s family and will dramatize the iconic singer’s early years growing up in Quebec, according to Deadline.

The project is being produced by Celine‘s brother, Jacques Dion, and is based on Dion, A Family Saga, a book written by her nephew, Jimmy Dion. Zoe Green, whose credits include Sirens and Carnival Row, has been tapped to serve as showrunner.

According to the outlet, the series will follow “Dion’s childhood in Quebec and formative years growing up in a modest, music-filled household, where her bond with her mother Thérèse and close-knit dynamic of 14 sibling relationships shaped her path to global superstardom.”

Deadline also shared a statement from Jacques about bringing the family’s story to the screen.

“This series represents something deeply meaningful for our family, as it captures the spirit, struggles, and love that defined our upbringing. We are proud to finally share this story with the world in a way that feels true to who we are.”

The news comes during a busy period for Celine. Last month, the superstar released new music for the first time in more than six years.

Her new French-language song, Dansons, arrived ahead of her upcoming comeback concert residency in Paris later this year. Celine is gradually returning to her music career while continuing her battle with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder she publicly revealed in December 2022.

This marks the first song Celine has released following her Courage album in November 2019, not counting her cover of “Hymne à l’amour” at the 2024 Olympics.

“Dansons” translates to “Let’s Dance” in English.

In honor of her 58th birthday on Monday (March 30), the “My Heart Will Go On” superstar announced her return landmark five-week limited engagement residency at the famed Paris La Défense Arena in France.

Celine will be performing 10 shows at the Paris venue, which is Europe’s largest indoor arena, beginning on September 12.

The upcoming Paris residency marks Celine‘s return to the stage following her lengthy hiatus as she battled the incurable autoimmune disorder Stiff Person Syndrome, which she publicly disclosed in December 2022.

Artist pre-sale will begin Tuesday, April 7 at 10:00 CEST. Fans can register for access to the pre-sale through Fair AXS on celinedion.com until Thursday, April 2 at 19:00 CEST. Fair AXS is designed so that eligible registrations are considered equally, with fans selected for the opportunity to purchase tickets. Fans will be notified via email regarding their selection status, and registering does not guarantee tickets.

Earlier this month, posters featuring the titles of her classic songs started showing up in Paris.

As of Monday (March 30), which also happens to be Celine‘s birthday. French outlets are reporting that a string of concerts will be announced later in the evening alongside a light show on the Eiffel Tower,

One outlet caught a test run of the Eiffel Tower overnight displaying the message “Céline Dion, Paris, Je Suis Prête” (Céline Dion, Paris, I’m Ready).

France Télévisions said there will be a big announcement at 9:15 p.m. local time, per Deadline.

La Presse reports she’ll perform two concerts a week at the Paris La Défense Arena in September and October.

According to La Presse, she’ll apparently be taking the stage at the venue during September and October to perform two shows a week! The venue holds 40,000 people. Variety shares that they have also confirmed this news.

Celine has not announced any confirmation of this report, but stay tuned.

If you don’t know, in 2022, Celine confirmed she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome. Stiff Person Syndrome is an autoimmune and neurological disorder that causes rigidity and spasms in the trunk and limbs, according to Yale Medicine. According to the Stiff Person Syndrome Research Foundation, it takes an average of seven years to identify and that because of its autoimmune features, is often mistaken for other diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and fibromyalgia.

She has since returned to the stage, but had not committed to concert dates….until now!

Please be advised that these recordings are fake and not approved, and are not songs from her official discography.”

In an emotional moment posted by a fan account on X (formerly Twitter), Adele spotted Celine in the crowd while singing “When We Were Young,” bursting into tears.

She said a few words to Celine as the Canadian singer held Adele’s face in her hands, later kissing Adele’s hand as she waved at those nearby before sharing a few more words and walking back to the stage.
