In The Challenger, Will is set to portray George Abbey, the Director of Flight Crew Operations for NASA’s Space Shuttle, assigned Ride to the crew of 1983’s STS-7.

What Is The Challenger about?

Here’s the official logline: “The Challenger tells the gripping story of one of the most defining moments in space history, both the unprecedented events leading up to the tragedy, and the shocking investigation that followed. As the members of the 1986 Rogers Commission interrogate the complex inner workings of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to find what, or who, was responsible for the Challenger’s doomed fate, the show explores Commission member Sally Ride’s (Stewart) personal journey. We follow Sally, and the rest of the diverse Astronaut Class of ’78, through the ranks of the shuttle program, through initial recruitment and training, professional and personal highs and lows, until Sally’s historic glass ceiling moment as she becomes the first American woman in space.”

Inspired by Meredith E Baby‘s book “The New Guys,” the upcoming series was created by American Crime Story writer Maggie Cohn, who also serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

Kyra Sedgwick and Valerie Stadler are also executive producing for Big Swing Productions, as well as the author, and so will Kristen, Dylan Meyer, and Maggie McLean through their production company Nevermind.

If you missed it, Will recently last appeared on television in the series The Madison, and prior to that, on The Morning Show. Last year, he starred on the big screen in Bradley Cooper‘s Is This Thing On?

The veteran journalist is the latest amid a string of firings as the newsmagazine undergoes significant changes under the leadership of editorial chief Bari Weiss.

Pelley‘s firing comes just one day after he got into a heated argument with newly appointed executive producer Nick Bilton, a former tech journalist hired by Weiss.

Variety reviewed a letter sent to Pelley by Bilton on Tuesday evening (June 2) announcing his termination.

“Your antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear. And I have heard you. I therefore write on behalf of CBS News to inform you that your employment with CBS is terminated effective immediately.”

Pelley is the fourth person leaving 60 Minutes since February, with just a trio of reporters—Bill Whitaker, Lesley Stahl, and Jon Wertheim—remaining to prep stories for the 59th season scheduled for this fall.

This latest termination unfolded after Pelley butted heads with Bilton during Monday’s staff meeting.

In audio recording obtained by The New York Times, the former CBS Evening News anchor accused Weiss of “murdering” the newsmagazine.

“She is murdering 60 Minutes. She does not love this place. She was brought in to kill it, and she’s been doing exactly that.”

Before that, another terminated journalist, Cecilia Vega, alleged censorship amid the firings.

While most TV cancellations and renewals are revealed ahead of the network upfront events, which happened in early May, NBC decided to wait on making a decision for The Hunting Party.

Deadline reports that the network decided to wait as “executives took extra time to evaluate the show’s performance on both linear and streaming.” Unfortunately, the decision ended up being to cancel the show.

Thankfully, producers plan on shopping the show around in hopes of getting a renewal elsewhere.

NBC exec Jeff Bader basically hinted at the cancellation last month while talking about the fall lineup.

“We’re looking for places where we can grow the network, and that is a time period where we think we can do better,” he told Deadline. “Nothing negative about Hunting Party, but for our linear schedule, we absolutely need to try and do a little bit better there.”

Deadline reports that an outreach to Netflix is “logical” as the streamer already licenses the show. The outlet did point out that viewership from the streamer did not help grow NBC’s audience for season two though.

Mike has officially reprised his role as Luke Cage in the Disney+ series and is expected to have a significantly expanded presence in the show’s upcoming third season. Finn is also set to return as Danny Rand, better known as Iron Fist, in season 3.

The actors are joining Charlie Cox, who stars as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil, and Krysten Ritter, who reprises her role as Jessica Jones. Their involvement brings fans one step closer to a full-fledged reunion of The Defenders, the team previously seen non Marvel’s interconnected Netflix series.

Mike and Finn were photographed filming scenes in Manhattan on Monday (June 1) in New York City. They appeared to be accompanied by a younger actress who is believed to be portraying Danielle Cage, the daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

The latest set photos follow earlier images that surfaced in April showing Mike, Finn, and Krysten filming scenes together in Brooklyn.

Wilson Bethel was also recently spotted filming new scenes as Bullseye for season 3!

The third season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to premiere sometime in March 2027.

Critics are weighing in with their thoughts following the series premiere on the streamer.

Season 1 of the show currently has a 56% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Guardian gave it 2 out of 5, writing: “Kaling’s scripts try hard but rarely shine, let alone dazzle as the Friends’ dialogue almost unfailingly did.”

THR writes: “Its ensemble is broadly appealing, stuffed with fresh faces you might sorta recognize but who haven’t broken out big just yet. Its vibe is reliably funny, lightly sweet and generally chill. In short, it’s a nice hang.”

The LA Times calls it “an amiable, sweet-tempered romantic ensemble comedy with a heftier than usual emphasis on professional ambition.”

RogerEbert.com writes: “It offers too many cliches to result in anything other than mediocrity.”

Australia’s The Age says: “Swapping out the campus for a Manhattan apartment complex home to fresh graduates entering adulthood, Not Suitable For Work smartly doesn’t overplay its Gen Z reference… But this is a classic work-and-dating sitcom at its core.”

TheWrap says: “At its best it’s an entertaining world of whimsy; at its worst, it’s silly, shallow and overly tidy.”

TV Guide gives at a 5.8 out of 10, saying: “It feels like in order to stand out, Not Suitable for Work is fighting against what people love about hangout shows: the actual hanging out.”

Slant gave it a 1.5 out of 4, saying: “The series isn’t funny, endearing, or memorable enough to recommend around the water cooler.”

14-year-old Lai Noelle earned the Golden Buzzer for her incredible cover of Sienna Spiro‘s breakout song “Die on This Hill.”

Lai has a soft-spoken voice while talking, but her voice opens up into a powerful one when she sings.

In the middle of the performance, Sofia Vergara whispered over to Simon Cowell and asked him if she should press the Golden Buzzer, but he replied, “I wouldn’t.”

Why did Simon say that? Because he wanted to be the one to press it!

“Lai. Shall I tell you, honestly, what I think? Words aren’t necessary,” Simon said before getting up and pressing the buzzer for her.

After Simon did it, Mel B told Sofia that she can never tell him about her plans again!

Sofia said, “I told him that ‘I’m going to give her the golden buzzer’ and he got up and did it. He took her from me!”

Simon told Lai, “Honestly, I shut my eyes for a moment and I was thinking, ‘That’s not you singing.’ You’ve got such a gift and now you take this opportunity and make it amazing. This is why we do this.”

The 22-year-old actress played Rue’s younger sister Gia Bennett in the first two seasons of the HBO series, but she didn’t return for the third and final season, which just ended on Sunday night.

In the episode, Zendaya‘s character Rue died of a fentanyl overdose after she was intentionally given painkillers laced with the drug. Her former boss Alamo Brown ordered her death after learning that she had been working with the DEA.

While Nika King did make a brief appearance in the episode as their mom, Storm only appeared through a very brief flashback moment while Rue hallucinated her family and friends in the final moments before she died.

In a TikTok video, Storm shared footage of herself recording music in the studio. She captioned the clip, “sorry rue I’m busy in the stu.”

One fan commented, “it’s fine, you weren’t in her last 7 minutes.” The fan included three crying emojis. Storm responded to the comment and wrote, “were you?”

During the conversation, she addressed her exit from Vanderpump Rules and the Scandoval that broke the Internet three years ago, as well as what advice she gave to Summer House‘s Ciara MIller and future Love Island residents.

“I did a spot for Sonic with Ciara Miller this year, and we’ve talked a little about navigating that kind of moment. I reminded her that she is the prize, she is the moment, and when she’s navigating brand deals, they need her more than she needs them: You have the power, so don’t ever feel like you don’t.”

On her early days on Vanderpump Rules:

“There were a lot of people in my life, including my boyfriend at the time, who hated reality TV and felt very passionately that everyone who does it is trash.”

On leaving Vanderpump Rules:

“I knew going into it that Season 11 was going to be my last season on Vanderpump, but it still took a long time for me to realize how it was affecting the way I thought, the way I interacted with friends. I’d find myself not trusting people: Are they making fun of me? Are they going to twist this?”

On handling the aftermath of Scandoval:

“My team and I decided there was only going to be one, maybe two, things that referenced anything having to do with what was happening around the show that year – and that would be it. I’ve still never even spoken it by name.”

On the fast pace of Love Island:

“So many episodes will end on a cliffhanger, and I’m always wishing the audience would have more patience before jumping down someone’s throat. They’ve got the pitchforks out and have decided this person is wrong, and I’m like, ‘Just wait for the next episode! You’ll see that everything works out fine!’”

On the piece of advice she’d give future Love Islanders: “Honestly, start therapy now. And I don’t mean that reality TV is going to f*ck up your brain. I just think the sooner you start therapy, the more prepared you’re going to be for anything that comes at you. You’ll come out on the other side less scathed – plus, you’ll be able to talk about your feelings in a more concise way.”

At a recent event, the 50-year-old actor, who is a fan favorite on the show, confirmed they are beginning the lengthy shoot for the 15-episode third season soon.

Shawn Hatosy also confirmed he’d be returning as the night shift doctor

“We start in a couple weeks and I haven’t even read the episode. It hasn’t been sent, but I know that I’m going back,” he confirmed to Us Weekly.

He then joked, “Come on, Abbot will be back. That place wouldn’t function that night without Abbot.”

More recently, we found out some new information about season three of The Pitt

Noah Wyle revealed that the upcoming season would be set in November, just a few months after July’s season two.

They also confirmed that it will be released in the same time frame as seasons one and two. Season 1 debuted on January 9, 2025 and season 2 debuted on January 8, 2026. It’s presumed that, if they follow the same Thursday evening release pattern, we could see The Pitt season 3, episode 1 on January 7, 2027.

The hit drama series, starring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Colman Domingo and more, just aired it’s season three finale, which has now been confirmed to be the series finale, via Variety.

This news doesn’t come as much as a surprise as it has long been rumored that this would be the end.

Sam Levinson shared the news on the New York Times‘ Popcast podcast, while speaking with hosts Joe Coscarelli and Jon Caramanica.

HBO then confirmed the show is ending with Variety.

Previously, Sam has said that he writes every season as if it is the last, but wouldn’t confirm if this season would be the end.

“I’ve written every season like it’s the last season, because I was never sure if they were going to pick it up again,” he told The New York Times ahead of the season.

“If inspiration strikes and I have an idea, then I’ll talk to HBO,” he added when pressed about a fourth season. “If it makes sense, it makes sense. But it’s such a long shoot and we put so much into it, from every department — costumes, production design, editorial, cinematography. We just want to get this season right. So if this is it, great. If there’s more …

“I don’t know. I mean, I’m not…” Sam continued. “As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch Mrs. Miniver again.”

The 29-year-old actress has won an Emmy award for her portrayal of Rue Bennett in the first two seasons, and is ending her seven-year journey with the HBO series.

As it was speculated to happen, Zendaya‘s character died in the season three finale after taking pain pills that were laced with fentanyl.

After the episode finished, a behind-the-scenes video played, as one has throughout all three seasons, and this week’s kicked off with Zendaya giving a speech on her last day of filming.

“I just want to say thank you,” she says in a microphone to the crew, getting emotional. “I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you, and many of you have been here from the beginning, and watched me grow up.”

“It’s been such a pleasure and an honor. Thank you so much,” she adds.

The video then went on with a message from creator, writer and director Sam Levinson.

“Zendaya‘s performance has been so wonderful and layered over the course of these seasons,” he shares. “You know, we fell in love with this character. This girl who’s flawed and f-cked up, but has a good heart. And trying to do right, at least sometimes.”

Cinematographer Marcell Rév also shared some words about Zendaya‘s last day on set.

“Z‘s last shooting day, we shot some driving stuff with her. It was a very emotional day,” he said.

Sam added, “It’s a blessing to work with talented people, people that you love. I feel so lucky.”

Hunter Schafer recalled have Zendaya has a scene partner.

“I feel so lucky my first major scene partner ended up being a soulmate,” she shared. “Z is somebody that I’m gonna be talking to when I’m old. I love her to the moon and back.”

Later in the clip, Sam says that this just “felt like the honest ending.”

“The honest ending is people like Rue don’t make it,” he shared.

The late actor, who played Fezco in the first two seasons, appeared through flashback sequences in the final episode of the season, which debuted Sunday night (May 31).

In the season premiere, it was revealed that his character was in prison, and in the finale, it was shared that was in for murder, but he had escaped.

In a previous episode, Rue (Zendaya) had a phone call with Fez where he told her about his plans to escape, which he apparently executed in the finale, as there was news coverage of a prisoner’s escape.

Rue was surprised that his plan had worked.

During the finale, after Rue learns of his escape, she tells Ali, “I have to go get him. I promised him that if he ever got out, I would go pick him up. I have to go.”

She then leaves to go find him and on her drive, she goes by the store he owned, where we see flashbacks of Angus as Fez while Rue remembers him. Rue then ends up at her home, which was blocked off by police so she had to sneak around to go to her own house.

She then finds her mother at home reading a bible, which all ends up being a hallucination.

In a behind-the-scenes video, which aired at the end of the episode, creator Sam Levinson talks about honoring Angus, who passed away in 2023 from an accidental overdose, through this season’s storyline.

“This is a real show about a real problem that we have in this country, and that’s addiction,” Sam says. “People relapse. They fuck up. They’re not ready to get clean. And they weren’t dying like they are now with the influx of fentanyl into this country.”

“I can say with absolute certainty that if I was going through what I went through when I was younger now, I wouldn’t be here either, so… There’s no reason to sugarcoat it,” he continued. “I wanted to tell the story for Angus and for people who weren’t granted a second chance.”

Euphoria season three has come to an end after the eighth episode of the season debuted on HBO Max.

The hit drama series has been rumored to be ending after this season, though that has not been confirmed.

Earlier in the season, one of the show’s main characters, Jacob Elordi‘s Nate Jacobs died after being bitten by a rattlesnake while being buried in a box underground with just a breathing hole, and the finale episode brought another main character death.

Halfway through the finale episode, after learning of Zendaya‘s Rue working with the DEA, which was spilled by her friend Maddy in the previous episode, Alamo was prompted to kill her.

Rue’s boss, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, gave her pain killers that were laced with fentanyl and she overdosed.

Ali (Colman Domingo), Rue’s sponsor, found her dead on his couch and he went on a mission to seek revenge on Alamo for taking her life.

Rue being killed off in the third season of Euphoria has long been rumored, and may not come as a surprise to most.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this year, Zendaya was asked if this would be the show’s final season.

“I think so, yeah,” she responded, adding that “closure is coming.”

“Euphoria cracked my heart open,” Zendaya continued. “Rue [her character] taught me so much about life … that crew has also seen me grow up. I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and about redemption. She taught me a lot, and I’m very grateful for all of it.”
